There was a shepherd  in a far land.
Despised his work, he liked to sleep.
And when a lamb was lost, he would
shout, "Wolf! Wolf!
The wolves are all about!"

The neighbours searched from noon
till evening.
But they didn't see the wolf.

"Wolf!" he cried next morning when
The villagers came out again.

One evening around six o'clock
A real wolf fell upon the flock.
"Wolf!" yelled the boy.
"A wolf indeed!"
But no one paid him any heed.

"He's fooled us every time," they said.

And the hungry wolf ate the lamb
and boy.

The moral's this : Wise people
do not tell lies.
People don't believe them.
Even when liars tell the truth.
